How to Add a Personalized Photo to your Contact List on a MOTORAZR Cell Phone

©Wirefly, 20071. Find the round MENU button in the center of the navigation circle at the top of the keypad. On the keypad, this is the only solid round button and it has a dot in the center. It is surrounded by a circular button with arrows pointing in each of the four directions. On the phone’s display, there is a gray circle with an “M” in the middle which represents this button. This gray circle has an icon on each side to represent the actions of the four arrows on the circular button.

2. Press the MENU button. This will bring you to a screen with a menu title on the top and an icon in the middle representing that title. The first title that comes up is Call History. Press the right arrow on the circular button to get to other menus. You will go through Contacts, Messaging and On Demand before you come to Pictures & Video. At this screen, you will see an icon with a black & white movie reel on the left and a red picture of a tulip flower on the right.

3. At the Pictures & Video screen, click the upper left button on the keypad right under the word Select. This will bring you to the Pictures & Video menu. The first word on the menu, Camera, will be highlighted in yellow.

4. On the Pictures & Video menu, highlight the word Camera in yellow and press the Select button. This is the same button you pressed in the last step. You can change the word that is highlighted on the menu screen by pressing the up and down arrows on the circular button.

5. Once you select Camera, the display on the phone will show what is seen through the lens of the camera. On the bottom of the display screen, you will see Capture in the lower left and Options in the lower right. Move the phone around until the person you want to photograph is centered in the display screen. With the phone open, the camera is in the middle of the back (it is round, clear circle surrounded by a black trapezoid).

When you can see the person you want to photograph in the center of the display and you are satisfied with the image, press the top left button on the keypad directly under the word Capture. The phone will make a clicking noise and then you will see the photo you have taken on the display. If you are unhappy with the photo and want to take a new one, press the button under the word Delete in the lower left hand corner of the screen. Then you can repeat the last step and take a new photo. When you are happy with the photo you have taken, move on to the next step.

7. On the lower right hand corner of the display screen, under the photo you have taken, you will see the word Options. Press the rectangular button directly under Options. This will bring up a menu of options for what you can do with your photo.

8. Press the down arrow on the circular button until the choice Set As is highlighted. Then, press the Select button. This will bring up the Set As menu.

9. Press the down arrow on the circular button until the choice Picture ID is highlighted. Then, press the Select button. This will bring up your list of contacts. Using the down arrow button, scroll through your list of contacts until you highlight the name of the person whose photo you took.

10. When you have highlighted the entry you want from your Contacts list, press the Select button. The phone display will show a confirmation that the photo you took has been set as the Picture ID for that entry in your Contacts list.

For additional information on how to program this phone, it would be helpful to read the User Manual. This manual comes with the phone, but it is also available online. There is a link to the User Manual near the top of the left hand menu on the red MOTORAZR V3m home page.
